Responsibilities

  • Serves as the point of contact for university and Panama City campus recruitment events, student outreach, and communications for prospective first-year College, Transfer, and graduate students.
  • Oversees various daily recruitment and prospect management duties, which include phone calls, high school visits, college campus visits, and related outreach events. In addition, the team member intentionally prepares and reviews admissions applications and promptly communicates with students about the status of their applications and enrollment process.
  • Supports and facilitates recruitment events by coordinating faculty and staff, organizing virtual events, campus visits, and recruitment events on and off campus.
  • Focuses and provides instrumental support to the Social Media team by ensuring current social media platforms are meticulously maintained and up to date to support recruitment efforts.
  • Collaborates with the Student Financial Specialist, delivering financial aid assistance and counseling services to students, families, and stakeholders regarding financial aid awards by e-mail, telephone, in-person, or workshops.
  • Works with the Director of Advancement and FSU Foundation, ensuring that Academic Works (Scholarship database) is updated annually.
  • Works under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Recruitment and collaborates with recruiters from the Tallahassee campus.
  • Assists prospective students, families, school counselors, and community/state college advisors.
  • Planning and coordinating recruitment events and activities, attending off-campus recruiting events, and guiding potential university applicants about the educational opportunities available at Florida State University Panama City. (May require attending events and traveling after hours to fulfill these duties).
  • Actively involved in FSU PC’s undergraduate and graduate new student enrollment growth by following the recruitment communication plan, initiating contact, and following up with prospects.
  • Assists with financial aid and FSU PC foundation scholarship-related questions; Supports and influences the FSU PC foundation scholarship and admissions scholarship identification and awarding.
  • Entering, updating, and maintaining prospect and applicant records in the recruitment database.
  • Leads campus tours for prospective students and families; participates in on-campus and off-campus recruitment events such as Open Houses and college fairs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.)

A valid State of Florida Class E driver's license, or the ability to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability and flexibility to travel on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. The position requires driving a radius of 3- 4 hours from the FSU Panama City campus. The individual will use a state vehicle and have a cell phone allowance.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills; can speak with an individual or present to a large group.
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in education, business, or marketing. 1 – 3 years of experience in an office or higher education such as admissions, financial aid, academic advising, or registrar setting professionally or as a student employee.
  • Experience working in a team environment as well as working independently.
  • Experience forming and maintaining professional relationships that assist in the application and enrollment of students.
  • Experience reviewing and screening documents, such as transcripts, essays, and resumes, to determine acceptance to the university.
  • Worked in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring flexibility, critical thinking, problem-solving, and action-oriented results.
  • Experience working with digital marketing, creating content, posting schedules, and monitoring social media sites.
  • Experience with event planning and hosting individuals showcasing and representing the company or university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications, working with CRM and Information Systems, and managing and updating system data.
