Tuesday often gives off a vibe similar to what you get from a skip-worthy track on a good album. Yeah, sure, you need to listen to it to fully appreciate the album … but I could live without it.

  • In case you missed it: It was announced that all three Chicago Bears preseason games will air LIVE (!) on NFL Network airwaves. Ahh, the power of simulcasts. That means all four of Chicago’s exhibition games (the Pro Football Hall of Fame game technically doesn’t count as a preseason game … don’t ask) will be shown in front of a nationally televised audience. For me, living in Chicago, that doesn’t mean much. But this bit of news, for our friends who are out-of-market and tuning in, is wonderful. Everyone is going to get a look at Caleb Williams friends this summer.
  • Because I’m sure you are curious, these are the projected Week 1 starting quarterbacks for the Bears’ preseason opponents:
  • I don’t how much of CJ Stroud, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, or Patrick Mahomes we’ll see during the exhibition season. But it would be nice to see if Caleb Williams can glean some knowledge from some of the best QBs in the league. Does osmosis work for quarterbacks? I’m asking for a friend.
  • Speaking of Chicago’s QB1, Caleb Williams did right by a fan who got caught up in the Fanatics delivery waiting game. (NBC 5)
  • Jacob Infante absolutely nails this point so accurately that it deserves its time in the sun:
  • I feel like every single Caleb Williams story that’s come out since the #Bears drafted him has shown just how stupid the character concerns were.

Ryan Poles would never move off Justin Fields for anything less than an A+ player and human being. And Caleb is that guy.— Jacob Infante (@jacobinfante24) June 10, 2024

  • People were so in their feelings about a football player painting his nails and emoting that they had to create “character concerns” when there were none to be had. It really says a lot about the people who did that stuff.

  • Kevin Fishbain (The Athletic) explores some lingering questions leftover from Bears offseason minicamps. I love this quote from Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus because it puts shows me that he understands how different of a predicament he is in now (as opposed to where he was when he and General Manager Ryan Poles arrived in 2022):
  • “We’re in a different spot, all the way from the top. Ryan (Poles) and I are in a different spot. We know what we’re looking for, we know how we’re doing it. We’ve had the experiences of building this roster together, building this football team, so it’s in a different spot for sure.”

  • Over at Da Bears Blog, Johnathan Wood explores what’s up with the Bears pass rush. I can’t read this piece without thinking about how this team could use help in that area. More on that later.

  • The folks at Pro Football Focus run down the best NFL Draft picks in every first-round slot since 2015. As you might expect, the Chicago Bears are not represented here in any capacity. Some of that has to do with a lack of first-round selections. If you’ll recall, Ryan Pace gave up first-rounders in 2019 and 2020 in a trade for Khalil Mack in 2018. And in 2021, Pace sent the team’s 2022 Round 1 pick to the New York Giants in the trade-up that positioned the Bears to take quarterback Justin Fields.
  • There’s just not much to choose from when it comes to recent Bears first-round success stories between 2015-2023. With that being said, I hope Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, and Darnell Wright can help change the narrative on that front. Sometimes, it takes just one dude to change everything.
  • Someone really brought some Tom Brady game-used pants in an auction for $89,100. Oh, to have that type of expendable income. (Pro Football Talk)
  • There are 90 days until the Bears kick off their regular season, which is reason enough to share some Julius Peppers highlights:
