How to successfully run a Zoo in BitLife (2024)

Apart from running a museum or business, one of the best ways to earn a lot of money is by operating a zoo in BitLife. So, if you have just purchased the BitLife Zoo Expansion Pack and want to run your own animal-based attraction successfully, here is a detailed guide.

Similar to operating a Secret Agent office, running a Zoo is a premium feature in BitLife. So, you will need to purchase the Zoo Expansion DLC from the game store for $5 to access all the content related to the Zoo. Remember, the Zoo Expansion Pack is entirely different from the exotic pet store feature, which is available as a part of the Bitizen membership that allows users to keep rare pets like iguanas or tortoises in their homes.

Once you have purchased the DLC, the next step is to have a lot of money (usually in the range of $1 to $3 million) to open a Zoo. The best way to amass this amount of money early in the career is to either be born into a Royal Family or pursue high-paying careers like athlete, politician, movie star, or doctor. Follow whatever path you like and earn the prescribed amount as quickly as possible. I personally suggest going the Royal Family route as it is quick, and you get a lot of money after turning 18.

After racking up all that money, go to the Activities tab and click on the Zoo option to purchase a piece of land and open a Zoo in BitLife.

6 Tips and Tricks to Run a Zoo in BitLife

After playing the DLC for hours and running multiple zoos, I have come up with a handful of tips and tricks which I've shared below. Implement the following strategies in your game to become the best zoo owner in BitLife and rake in all the profits.

Admission Fee Structure

I know your primary aim is to make a lot of money through your Zoo, but that doesn't mean you can bump up the entry fee to the maximum available value at the start and charge a ridiculous amount. Instead, start at around $10 and slowly increase the rate as you add more animals to the zoo. I recommend adding $2 every time you have a new animal or $5 when you open a new habitat to your old entry fee. Remember, overpricing will bring your sanctuary a bad reputation and lead to your downfall.

Variety of Animals

Like real life, your Zoo in BitLife will only be popular if you have a wide variety of animals. So, wear your reading glasses and get ready to read through the Trading Post Catalogue, which contains dozens of new animals available for purchasing or trading from the market.

While purchasing, ensure you select unique animals that are not part of your current zoo and are very popular. These animals are usually pretty expensive, however, you have to spend and invest in getting these animals to make your Zoo more popular and get more visitors. During my run, I got a pair of Motmot, which were in very high demand and cost a lot of money, but that investment increased my overall profits and visitor numbers due to the insane popularity of the birds.

Baby Animals

During my campaign, I found there was a massive increase in visitor count whenever there was a newborn baby in my Zoo. It seems like in real life, people love to see baby animals in BitLife as well. So, start breeding as soon as you open the park. My suggestion is to have at least one baby animal each year to get the visitors flowing and increase profits.

Expansion of Habitats

Instead of expanding randomly, try to develop the Zoo only if you feel the profits have hit a ceiling and there has been no increase in revenue for the past few years. The main reason for this is that expanding the area requires a lot of money, as you have to clean and introduce new animals to that biome. So, only go for an expansion if you have a spare amount of $1 million (or more) in your budget.

Additional Attractions

The final thing you should look into is the additional attractions in the park. Click on the Attractions button from the list and build additional amenities for your visitors. Instead of constructing random activity stands, read the comments left by your old visitors and install attractions that have a lot of requests. For example, most of my past visitors wanted a Pollination Garden, and I made one in my park. Immediately, I saw an increase in the number of returning visitors and new ones.

Solving Problems

Every single day, one or more problems will arise in your Zoo. Solve these problems immediately without any delay. For example, if one of your animals is sick, call the doctor immediately to treat the animal. If it is a severe case, euthanize the animal to put it out of its misery and use the funds allocated for the animal for other purposes.
