Paul Nienhiser Wins at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday Before Runner Up Finish with IRA Saturday Snaps 4-Race Win Streak (2024)

PETERSEN MEDIA: Paul Nienhiser continued to have an extremely strong start to the Summer over the weekend as he powered to his fourth consecutive feature event win as he parked in victory lane at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday night before a trip to Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin on Saturday saw a second-place finish end his streak.

Friday night, Nienhiser and company checked in at his home track, Jacksonville Speedway for what was only his fourth start of the season in his CAM2 Lubricants/Midland Performance Inc./MB Heating & Cooling backed No. 9x entry.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Chapin, IL driver worked his way to a second-place finish as he still works on the balance of a new car that was built for the 2024 season.

Continuing to make tweaks leading up to the feature event, Nienhiser was set to take the green flag from the outside of the front row. With the top groove being very good for the feature event, Nienhiser jumped into the early lead as he planted his right rear on the cushion that had built up around the bullring.

Setting a torrid pace up front as he continued to ride the rim, Nienhiser began to develop some steering issues that made the last part of the race a bit of a handful.

Backing his pace down as he wrestled the No. 9x around the track, Nienhiser did feel pressure a few times in the race’s closing laps but was able to fend off his challengers.

Keeping his place up front, Nienhiser was able to hand on for his sixth feature event win of the season, and his fourth consecutive as he turned his attention to IRA action on Saturday night.

After making a steering box swap Saturday morning, the team made the trip to Wisconsin as they checked into Wilmot Raceway.

Getting off to a quick start on Saturday night, Nienhiser earned fast time honors which put him in the second row of his heat race. Going from fourth to third in heat race competition, Nienhiser was eligible for Dash No. 1 where the win put him on the pole of the 25-lap feature event.

When the race went green, Nienhiser jumped up to the high side of the speedway but as he got to the curb he got his car upset and did all but flip as he fell back to fifth on the opening circuit.

Settling down and settling into the race, Nienhiser worked into fourth on lap eight, and was back into second when the cross flags were displayed to the field.

Chasing after the race leader, Nienhiser closed in and looked to be in prime position to make a run at his fifth consecutive feature event win.

As he made a bid for the lead on the 20th lap, Nienhiser all but spun out and let him sneak away for the time being. Getting his mount gathered up, Nienhiser was able to settle into second where he went on to finish.

“Saturday night was a bit wild, but glad we didn’t tear anything up because I tried on a few occasions,” Nienhiser said. “We have two really good racecars right now, and I am very fortunate to be in a position to win on any given night.”

Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Lubricants, Midland Performance Inc., MB Heating & Cooling Inc., Buffalo Wild Wings, T&K Tree Services, Morrow Brothers Ford Inc., American Rental Center, Signature Signs, The Auringer Family, Matt Bradshaw, Wessler Bros. Agency Inc., Haverfield Construction-Concrete, Dropped Mobile, Mason Sound, AB&C Moving, Maverick Corn Herbicide, Maxim Racing, Engler Machine and Tool, Rider Racing Engines, Simpson Race Products, and Super Shox for their support.

Nienhiser would also like to thank Heartland Trailer Manufacturing, Rockstar Wraps, Kinney Racing Engines, and Stronghurst Collision Center for their support of Scott Bonar’s No. 50 car.
