Cheers to another holiday season! Today we’re shaking up this gorgeous White Chocolate Peppermint Martini. It’s a deliciously sweet and creamy co*cktail with a peppermint twist that’s perfect for your holiday party.
I don’t know about you, but I’m always excited about the holiday season. While I’ve already been spreading Christmas cheer, I thought today would be the perfect time to mix up this white chocolate peppermint martini.
I love challenging myself to think of new and creative co*cktails. (You can find all of my Christmas co*cktails here.) This libation came to mind after I had a peppermint white chocolate mocha at Starbucks. I had a hunch the flavor combination would translate well into a co*cktail.
My fondness for peppermint is interesting because, in my younger years, I never understood its allure during the holiday season. Fast forward to now, and I’m such a fan of peppermint. Now that I’ve been converted, I especially love it paired with chocolate.

Ingredients
White chocolate and peppermint belong together! Here’s how I achieve the flavors for this martini:
- White Chocolate Liqueur: Godiva is my go-to brand, thanks to the creamy chocolate and vanilla flavor. If you can’t find that, use Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur. It’s wonderful too.
- Vanilla Vodka: Vanilla vodka further adds to the creamy flavor. Absolut and Smirnoff both make vanilla vodkas that are fairly easy to find.
- Crème de Cacao: White (clear) crème de cacao is what you want for this recipe, offering a slight cocoa bean flavor that’s not as syrupy as other chocolate liqueurs.
- Half and Half: This adds an extra creamy texture to the martini. You can also substitute it with cream.
- Peppermint Schnapps: The more peppermint schnapps you put in, the mintier it will be! Alternatively, you can use peppermint vodka for a more mild flavor.
- White Chocolate Syrup and Crushed Peppermint: Instead of a sugar rim, I like to dip the glass in white chocolate syrup and then into crushed peppermints for a beautiful and festive-looking garnish.
Martini Glasses:
I might have a small obsession with martini glasses. I have a few different styles that I love. Here are my go-to martini glasses including the one used here:
How to Make
- To make this peppermint martini, start by preparing your glass. I rimmed my glass with white chocolate syrup (found in the coffee section at the supermarket) and then dipped it into crushed candy canes.
- Next, I poured the vanilla vodka and all the liqueurs into a co*cktail shaker with ice, shook it up, and strained it into the glass.
- If you like things mintier, add more peppermint schnapps. Don’t have peppermint schnapps? Use peppermint vodka instead of white chocolate.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I make a vegan peppermint martini?
Most peppermint schnapps, vanilla vodka, and white crème de cacao are naturally vegan. To replace the white chocolate liqueur, you can double up on one of the other ingredients or try an almond-based crème liqueur such as Bailey’s version.
Always check the label of the alcohol, as different brands may vary in being vegan-friendly.
Replace the half-and-half with a vanilla-flavored dairy alternative. Oat milk is a great choice because it’s naturally sweet.
For the rim, you can replace the white chocolate syrup by dipping the rim in one of the liqueurs, then dipping them in the crushed peppermint (most should be vegan).
How can I crush candy canes?
You can use either peppermint candies or candy canes for the rim of your glass. To crush them, place them in a resealable, heavy-duty plastic bag. Place the bag atop a cutting board for safety, then use the smooth side of a meat tenderizer or a rolling pin to crush the candies to your desired size.
Pour them onto a plate, and they’re ready for dipping.
No matter how you shake it up, this white chocolate peppermint martini will be a delicious sip for any get-together this time of year. It’s such a fun drink to serve after dinner for dessert or even on a cozy night. It tastes sweet and looks perfectly festive for your table spread.
