Is Georgia State University Library open to the public? ›

We are proud to provide services to visiting researchers and members of the Greater Atlanta community. Visitors must present a physical government-issued photo ID to access the Library. Photos of IDs are not accepted. Visitor hours are less than for current GSU affiliates.

LIBRARY ACCESS

Lifetime Alumni Association members may check out up to 5 books from the University Library for 4 weeks (with up to 2 renewals). Privileges are valid for General Collection materials at Library North, Library South, and the five Perimeter College locations.

We aim to provide this kind of a place – online and in our six libraries. The University Library supports the strategic plan of Georgia State. We are a vital partner in student success and play a key role facilitating research excellence.

Open only to Georgia State students, faculty and staff, the Study Commons is dedicated to focused learning and productive collaboration. This 19,000 square foot facility accommodates both individual and group study needs and offers extended hours to fit your busy schedule.

Anyone may visit our libraries and use materials, databases, and resources on-site. During public hours, visitors without a UGA ID will need to register as a visitor at our Security & Visitor Check-In desk by presenting a government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.).

Visitors are welcome to view Georgia Tech items in the Library. If a visitor would like to view a book that is stored at the Library Service Center, they will need to contact our Public Services Department, who will request the book and let the visitor know when it is available.

Locate the relevant database by browsing the library's databases list or checking the research guide for your subject or class. Select a database to search. If you're off-campus, you'll be asked to enter your campus ID and password. Enter your search terms and browse your results.

The sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in or on all Georgia College & State University owned or leased (by) property or on sidewalks/streets are specifically prohibited, with the exception of those designated annually by the Chief Student Affairs Officer.

What GPA is required for GSU? ›

All our current staff and students are members of our library. The Sir Alex Ferguson Library is open to members of the public and anyone can use our space freely.

For the safety of Law Library users and the security of our collection, Law Library access outside of the School of Law's public access hours is restricted to School of Law faculty, staff, and J.D., LL. M, and M.S.L.

We are open to the public daily until 9pm throughout the year. After 9pm, the doors are card access only to NAU and CCC students, faculty, and staff. Hours may vary depending on academic or summer schedules.
